At RNG Solutions Pty Ltd, trading as Everything Property Perth, we are committed to ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, subcontractors, clients, and others who may be affected by our operations. This Health and Safety Policy outlines our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment and our approach to identifying, assessing, and controlling risks associated with our services, including carpentry, tiling, demolition, roof repairs, plastering, and painting.

1. Commitment to Health and Safety

We recognize that the health and safety of everyone involved in our work is essential. As a contractor providing construction-related services, we are dedicated to:

  • Complying with all relevant Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1984 (WA), and other applicable regulations.
  • Ensuring that all our employees and subcontractors are adequately trained, competent, and understand the health and safety obligations of the work they undertake.
  • Providing a safe and healthy work environment and taking all reasonable steps to prevent accidents, injuries, and incidents on the job site.

2. Responsibilities

Employer (RNG Solutions Pty Ltd):

  • Provide and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ensure that employees and subcontractors have access to the necessary training, equipment, and resources to perform their tasks safely.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement control measures to address identified hazards.
  • Monitor and review workplace health and safety standards regularly.
  • Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond promptly to any health and safety concerns or incidents that arise and take corrective actions where necessary.

Employees and Subcontractors:</>

  • Follow all health and safety instructions provided.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment where required.
  • Report any hazards, unsafe practices, or incidents immediately to a supervisor or employer.
  • Take reasonable care for their own health and safety, as well as the safety of others at the workplace.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment used are maintained in safe working condition.

3. Risk Management

We conduct thorough risk assessments before beginning any job to identify potential hazards associated with our services. We focus on:

  • Site hazards: Including uneven surfaces, working at heights, and potential exposure to dangerous chemicals.
  • Equipment hazards: Safe use of tools, machinery, and materials.
  • Environmental hazards: Handling materials and waste safely, particularly during demolition and roof repairs.
  • Health-related hazards: Managing risks related to fatigue, ergonomics, and worker well-being.

Where necessary, we implement control measures such as:

  • Use of protective barriers, scaffolding, and fall protection systems.
  • Correct handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Adequate ventilation and dust control during demolition and plastering work.
  • Regular equipment maintenance and safety checks.

4. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Employees and subcontractors are required to wear appropriate PPE, including:

  • Safety helmets.
  • Work boots with steel caps.
  • High-visibility clothing.
  • Safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection, where necessary.
  • Respiratory protection (e.g., masks) during tasks that generate dust or fumes (e.g., demolition, tiling, and plastering).

The specific PPE required will be assessed based on the type of work being carried out.

5. First Aid and Emergency Procedures

We have implemented procedures to ensure the prompt and effective handling of any accidents or medical emergencies:

  • A qualified first-aider is always available on site.
  • First-aid kits are provided and maintained on all job sites.
  • Emergency contact details, including local medical services and emergency numbers, are displayed on-site.
  • Clear evacuation procedures are in place, including fire safety measures and emergency exits.
  • In the event of an incident or accident, all employees and subcontractors must report it immediately to the site supervisor, and an incident report will be filed.

6. Subcontractor Health and Safety

All subcontractors engaged by RNG Solutions Pty Ltd must comply with the same health and safety standards as our employees. Subcontractors are required to:

  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Complete health and safety induction training before starting work on a site.
  • Ensure their employees (if applicable) are also trained and equipped with the necessary safety measures.

Subcontractors must also report any safety concerns or incidents on the job site immediately.

7. Training and Awareness

We provide ongoing health and safety training to all employees and subcontractors. This includes:

  • Induction training for new employees and subcontractors on our specific health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ongoing training to ensure employees are up-to-date with current safety standards and industry practices.
  • Job-specific training related to the safe use of equipment and handling of materials (e.g., demolition techniques, use of scaffolding, roof work, etc.).

8. Incident Reporting and Investigation

In the event of an accident, injury, or near miss:

  • The incident must be reported immediately to the site supervisor or project manager.
  • An investigation will be carried out to determine the root cause and corrective actions will be implemented to prevent recurrence.
  • A written report of the incident will be maintained for future reference and compliance purposes.

9. Alcohol and Drugs Policy

For the safety and well-being of all personnel, the use of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited on the job site. Any employee or subcontractor found under the influence will be removed from the site immediately and may be subject to further disciplinary action.

10. Health and Safety Review

This Health and Safety Policy is regularly reviewed to ensure it remains compliant with current legislation and best practices. Any changes to laws or regulations will be incorporated into our policies and communicated to all employees and subcontractors.

11. Acknowledgment of Health and Safety Policy

All employees and subcontractors working for RNG Solutions Pty Ltd must acknowledge and agree to abide by this Health and Safety Policy. A signed acknowledgment form will be kept on record.
